We build and equip schools with learning aids for visually impaired persons, ensuring that they can access education and equal opportunities.
This intervention comes in the form of empowering visually impaired persons with capital for income generating activities or scholarships.
According to the Ministry of Health, preventable blindness accounts for 80% of causes of visual impairment. By providing quality and accessible health care for the visually impaired, SOK has given hope to families and communities with visually impaired persons, as they have been able to access the much-needed eye-health, which once seemed unreachable or a reserve for certain class of citizens. Eye-health care givers have also been motivated to engage in health in these communities with most need, as they have the equipment and knowledge to practice.
